Student Devices (Chromebooks)

Students will receive a Lenovo Chromebook to use for their classes. Devices will be distributed during the first weeks of school. Students use their devices for daily work as well as district and state testing. GCS does not recommend using a personal device for school work.

Go Guardian

Teachers and Parents are able to manage their students' Chromebook use with Go Guardian. Click here for more information on Go Guardian.

Device Damage/Loss

Students should keep their Chromebook and charger in a safe place away from food, drinks, and pets. Students should not put stickers or make any marks on the device.

If the device is damaged, please bring it to the Media Center so it can be sent in for repair. If a device is lost, please report it to the school ASAP.

Chargers

If a student loses their charger, they will need to purchase a replacement for their personal use. At this time we do not have spare chargers. The charger is a USB C Type 45W compatible with Lenovo Chromebooks.

WIFI

While on campus, students should use the GCS WIFI network on their school device. If you do not have home WIFI and you would like to request a GCS WIFI hotspot for your student, please contact Ms. L'Esperance (Media Specialist) at lesperk@gcsnc.com
